Tribes Player ..
Re: Tribes Player ..
Well, I can answer that. You have to like the outdoors, and cold. Lived in Anchorage for over 5 years. Summer's are short, about 3 months or less, but the food is good, especially the seafood, and it's price. I didn't do any hunting while there, but it's also very abundant for moose, and black bear. I mostly fished and the rainbow trout, salmon, and humpbacks are plentiful all year round. It's also a great place to off road with any type of vehicle. Tell you the truth, with all the places I've lived in or visited, Alaska was probably one of my favs.

I used to provide tech support for an emergency alert system with 17000 phone lines, and we had to throttle back when Alaskan schools used our system, because we would literally use 100% of the available phone lines in Alaska...
In the continental US, if you are a telephone provider, roughly 60% of the phone lines you provide can operate simultaneously, but in Alaska, it's less than 1%.
So, before we throttled back, if a school sent an emergency alert to all of it's teachers and parents, less than 1% of the phone calls would succeed, and the rest would get busy signals, but more importantly, if anyone in the state was trying to make a phone call at that time, they couldn't.
At least, that's my understanding of what my boss told me.

Re: Tribes Player ..
My grandfather gave me this guy a while back. A Mamod SR1A from 1973 o_O
Tablet fired and with a single Piston. Takes roughly 10 minutes to heat up.
She still runs but more easily backwards... somethings wrong with the lever as it cuts off steam pressure in the forwards position unless under really high pressure.
If you take off the drive belt it gains some crazy high level RPM; it once caused the flywheel to detach and take off to which it hit the wall and left a dent.
Anyways its more a showpiece, but a great one.

Re: Tribes Player ..
He's in Alaska, they protect the dogs feet from the cold....snow and ice.
Re: Tribes Player ..
No, their paws aren't covered completely on the underside. Their "PAD" is open and still needs to be protected.
Re: Tribes Player ..
So, in other words, that dog doesn't belong in Alaska?
