For you Atari 2600 fans....

Post by KILROY »

Found this online tonight, just thought I'd share for those of you who remember those classic gamming consoles. I owned an Atari 2600 with about 50 games that I actually just got rid of last year to a friend of mine who adopted 2 young teenagers.

Still have mine... Tanks ! Still worked last time I tried it too, those were the days... no longer did you have to ante up a quarter to play a vid game. Had a buddy and we were all about Defender and Gravitar back in the day, they had a little game room in town. Played quite a bit of pool too. There were some other games that were pretty nifty too... Being able to play at home was a whole new ballgame though.

We never had a console plugged into our tv...

My parents bought an original Nintendo gameboy for each of their four children, so we wouldn't fight over them.

We also had two IBM PS1s running DOS and one IBM PS2 running Windows 3.1.

WOW, a 1986 junior model, haven't seen one of those for awhile. Your lucky, that one costs around $50. I bought one back in 1982 that costs me $199, and that was without games, you still had to buy the game cartridges which each cost the same as you bought that Junior model for ;)

EDIT: Here's a history for Atari:

Haha cool, My Grandfather gave it to me about 10 years back, was sitting in his Garage. It does have some games preloaded into the console. I do plan on keeping it ^.^
