R.I.P. Robin Williams you wonderful human being you I'd like to share a story of this tribals battle agains depression and anxiety. It only seems fitting because both Tribes and this great man who is now no longer among the living "supposedly" due to depression as well.
So here it goes it's a pretty long one and please know if there are any typos or jumbled sentences it's mainly because I'm doing this off the top of my head and on my iPhone because my computer is MIA currently but I needed to celebrate this great man and this great community whom had saved me from myself with my own struggle.
I suffered from pretty bad depression since I was a child(I constantly thought about my end aka Death and grew overwhelmingly afraid of it to the point that I refused to be social and go outside just to increase my chances of living longer. It was severe depression mixed with severe anxiety though I never thought of doing myself in I would constantly think up absurd scenarios of how I could possibly die just by stepping out my front door which lead me to a very introverted lifestyle as I grew. Luckily I had found community and social interaction through Starsiege:Tribes as a youngster as well so I wasn't completely alone so I was able to keep myself sane long enough thanks to the back then hundreds if not thousands of players that I had small interactions and even some that I had great long lasting friendships with. Also thanks to those people for helping me deal with this severe anxiety and depression I had put myself into with my fear of dying for listening to me and confirming that I wasn't the only person in the world who feared death. Because at my young age of 11 I had let that fear control me for 4 years when I first experienced death as a 7 year old child when my first dog had died and I realized he would never be back. But I digress the tribes community helped me tremendously to work through my depression over the years acting as a pseudo psychiatrist with their small but helpful advices and suggestions and as I approached my 12 birthday I had already been playing tribes for roughly 4 years by this time my depression and anxiety had all but left me because a close tribal friend had recommend I talked to my parents about this overwhelming fear that had slowly been dissipating and I felt like I was finally able to let my parents know the true reason as for the cause of my depression and my mother assured me that I would live a long and fulfilling life and thanks to reaching out to tribals and also I forgot to mention the blunt comedy of George carlin and the goofy comedy of Robin Williams and of course the support of my family once I had the courage to tell them what was really on my mind I was able to beat my severe depression and anxiety. That's why today is a very somber day for me because not only do I understand depression but one of my all time favorite comedians and a man whose comedy helped me in such moving way is gone from my life the only thing left to die is Tribes and I sincerely pray that it truly never fully dies either in spiritual successors or the franchise itself because if it wasn't for Tribes as a whole (Community,Gameplay and the strong bonds I've made with fellow players who went out of their way I help me) and those two great comedians I wouldn't be the man I am today an outgoing and willing to try almost anything kind of guy and to those fellow Tribals(If you're still around and you know who you are) thank you from the bottom of my heart because of you I am free of my bondage. I just wish Robin Williams was so lucky. Maybe he would still be with us today.
P.S. Sorry for the rant but I needed to get it of my chest and I hope that it may inspire or help someone else reach out with their troubles. Just FYI I'm all ears to anyone who needs to vent or just wants to talk.
Thank you Tribals, Robin Williams, and George Carlin from the bottom of my heart,

Laughter... truly the best medicine. I can't tell you how many times my sides hurt from laughing at Robin's stand up routines back in the day, a great funny man. We all have our own demons and battles to fight it seems, even those we think may be farthest from depression can be a prisoner within it's depth. Good post Vincent and keep fighting the good fight!

Robin Williams touched us all in one way or another rest in peace
Mork from ork
Orson: The report, Mork.
Mork: This week I discovered a terrible disease called loneliness.
Orson: Do many people on Earth suffer from this disease?
Mork: Oh yes sir, and how they suffer. One man I know suffers so much he has to take a medication called bourbon, even that doesn't help very much because then he can hear paint dry.
Orson: Does bed rest help?
Mork: No because I've heard that sleeping alone is part of the problem. You see, Orson, loneliness is a disease of the spirit. People who have it think that no one cares about them.
Orson: Do you have any idea why?
Mork: Yes sir you can count on me. You see, when children are young, they're told not to talk to strangers. When they go to school, they're told not to talk to the person next to them. Finally when they're very old, they're told not to talk to themselves, who's left?
Orson: Are you saying Earthlings make each other lonely?
Mork: No sir I'm saying just the opposite. They make themeslves lonely, they're so busy looking out for number one that there's not enough room for two.
Orson: It's too bad everybody down there can't get together and find a cure.
Mork: Here's the paradox sir because if they did get together, they wouldn't need one. Isn't that zenlack?

That's a pretty great dialogue from the show. Truly strikes a chord in the explanation of the human condition I'm glad I didn't let loneliness add to my problems when I was suffering from the problems I mentioned in my story ad went the opposite direction thanks to tribes cause who knows where I would be now without this community.

Oh don't worry I'm 24 now so it's been a good decade since this was a real issue for me. I was
I was just sharing the story because this mans death brought back memories of that time because he played a vital role in the process and was a big impact on me and tribes.

My favorite Robin Williams comedy bit is his spoof of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.
From the album: Reality, What a Concept:
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...
Oh damn, someone stole my sneakers.
Let's do some wonderful things today, boys and girls; but first, do you mind if I take some more medication?
It makes the day go a little bit slower.
There we go...
Now we're gonna do some wonderful experiments you can do around the house.
Let's put Mr. Hamster in the microwave, okay?...
He knows where he's going.
BEEP! Pop goes the weasel!
That's severe radiation. Can you say "severe radiation"?
Look, you've got a little balloon now.
I know many of you say "why did you do that?" ...'cause it's real sick, but I have to do that because you realize boys and girls that the universe is entropy. Can you say entropy?
...nice try.
We've got to change it now...
(Rogers, get off the air!)
They've got to know, Tommy...
I've got to do something meaningful while I'm entrapped in this job for over thirteen years...
Oh look, Mr. Postman's here. Let's see what he brought for me today.
It's my package from Fredericks.
Yesterday he brought my package from Columbia...
Sometimes that's the only way I can tolerate you little shits.
