Story time: part 2
The custody exchange happened on the way to Toronto, near Ashley's boyfriend's house. I was on my way home (12-13 hour drive) while Seth and Andrea were on their way to Jamaica (flight departing Toronto the following day).

After dropping off the kids, we got stuck in a traffic jam that completely stopped traffic in both directions for hours.

We decided that I should get a hotel room in Toronto, too, rather than driving straight through. Also, there was an amusement park on the way, so the three of us went there and rode roller coasters until 10 PM.

Then Seth invited me to crash at their hotel, rather than getting my own room. Their hotel suite had a master bedroom that could be separated from the living room, so I slept on the couch while Andrea reveled at the king size bed, exclaiming about how she could sleep like a starfish.

I hit the road again, at 5:30 AM, and got to work 5 minutes before scheduled, at 3:55 PM.
