I have an idea, and you guys can all shoot it down if you don't like it. I've had good ideas in the past so give me a chance here lol

What if, each one of us were to go find a decently populated forum full of old pc gamers (mature ones that wont flame you lol), and start making friends in those communities... Maybe they will eventually start playing tribes along with the other games that they play already? I am going to try this by myself but it seems like a solid idea, and not very time consuming if a bunch of us do it.

I think this is where Shift and STU hangout when not on Tribes.

There are tons of these communities, and some of them are huge compared to ours. a fraction of one communities players coming here would basically double our population lol

Alternatively:

http://www.reddit.com/r/lowendgaming (10k subs)
http://www.reddit.com/r/patientgamers (41k subs)
http://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/ (74k subs)

And if you're lucky:

http://www.reddit.com/r/games (400k+ subs)
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming (5 million+ subs)

There's also that shitty tribes subreddit, but I wouldn't recommend going there.

not to many people here go back to the demo days before the release of T1 . I was 15 years old , one of 2 girls that played.
I have had many acquaintances and one very serious relationship in tribes, its been apart of my life for over 16 yrs
Tribes never gets old theres always something to learn or practice, I never mapped , but made some skins for [UwK]
and had a sound pack bar none ,(still have it, but unsure if I want to use it ) it was made by [UwK] 5p1d3r and myself based on 5150 with a large music score and
alot of Disney characters added. fun times. I think if Starsiege Tribes really wanted to get back the player base it had back in the day, It would have to be re released
with unchanged game play and today's graphics (as that seems to be all it is lacking ) I Love this game, finding time to play it is another matter :hscratch:

this is a good idea, but what build do you plan to advertise? stock 1.11? stock 1.40? groove 1.41?

Fixing the 1.40 client crash would make it the #1 build to use, imo. But seeing as its been 4 years since the leak I don't see it getting fixed anytime soon (unless NoFix resurfaces with any interest in Tribes).
