on a serious note shift, maybe you should put in the effort to teaching players how to properly set d like you did with me a year ago, you might be surprised that players aren't as stupid as they seem, just lack the know-how [otherwise you have zero excuse to bitch about this if you don't try to fix it in a reasonable way]

also I'm now curious [Crow] how many players in the database even have over 10k kills (and then how many of those are even active, probably a smaller amount than I'd imagine)

there is actually a decent amount over 10k

I've seen similar systems in line with what shift is talking about. Back in 2001 there was a mod called WarZone that required players achieved certain numbers of points before they could use deployables. 2 points granted them access to forcefields and shit, 10 points for turrets, 20 for bombs, 50 for bases and so on...
The sad part is that we can't really implement a system like that here without fucking things up. Why? The most important D is set at the beginning of the game before anyone really has points. Opening defense is critical to team success. Absolutely critical.
