So, you need a case that fits a microATX motherboard, a 228mm long video card, at least one 2.5" drive bay, and you're probably gonna want some easily accessible USB 3.0 ports on the front, right?

There's the list filtered and sorted by cheapest.
Personally, I prefer mesh cases over windows because they breath better than a solid sheet of glass. You might also want to read the reviews to see how noisy the fans are... That can be a real problem if you're using your computer for watching movies or if your computer is in your bedroom and you leave it running 24/7.

So I'm leaning towards this. I like the white it's a bit big but no problem for me I have a ton of space and it has a 20.00 rebate. Figured this would be the best bang for my buck. What you think. I know its tempered glass but I read that it was quiet I could be wrong.
Edit: Went ahead and got the white case. Looks awesome and no tax or shipping and handling plus a 20.00 rebate was a winner for me. Thanks alot for your help Perri!
So as far as RAM goes.... How much RAM do I need to be running? I already have 2x 8gb crucial balistix from a while back before they become expensive as fuck. Is 16gb going to be good enough??

Must have been an old laptop or failed sensor. It should of shut itself down well before that point. All laptops have a failsafe that does this.jINKS{OZ} wrote:Did anybody here ever own a laptop and it get so hot it fried the motherboard and now ur kinda scared to let anything run 3 days straight let alone 24/7??lol

16 should be plenty if you're just gaming and a few other things. Could always upgrade to more later.vistalize wrote:https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16811139128

Re: Is this a good motherboard ??
I do like that case. The glass is offset providing an air gap, so it's not sealed up, which is good. It has 2x usb 3.0 on the front (could have gotten more, but that's ok), looks like a couple removable drive bays in the back which is a neat feature. You could potentially hot swap SSDs.
Any who, that's settled. Let's talk about RAM.
I'm having a really difficult time figuring out how many pins your dimm slots have. The spec sheet for your motherboard doesn't specify. I'm worried whatever i recommend might not fit in the slot.
If you also can't find the appropriate documentation, you're gonna hafta physically count the pins in one of the dimm slots.
Oh, and I've had laptops and desktops burn up before. Temperature sensors are typically located near expensive components, but a component in a completely different place might be the culprit. Typically, the things that overheat and explode are capacitors and the little donut things. Most come from China and not all are high quality. They are easy to replace with a soldering gun, though, and not very expensive.
The cell phone I'm currently using right now actually caught fire once. It had gotten wet, and a warning message informed me that moisture was detected in the charging port. I blew in the charging port and plugged it in to charge. It protested and refused to charge, but i left it anyway, as i needed it recharged. A little while later, i noticed smoke coming out of the charging port and discoloration under the oled display near the charging port.
I unplugged it, ran it under a faucet, and charged it via induction instead. A few days later, i tried charging with a usb cable again and it worked fine. Still have a little discoloration under the home button, though.

Re: Is this a good motherboard ??
Yeah my bed sheet chocked it out, got to hot, I guess I coulda fixed it but I was software smart not hardware. Lesson learned
Re: Is this a good motherboard ??
Yeah, always use a bedside table or laptop cooler when beating off.
