I have spent a great deal of my life playing Tribes. It is now 2014, and I started playing in about 1999-2000 (when I was 7 or 8).
I have been friends with many of the best minds ever to play tribes, and possibly to create content for an online video game period. I saw people set trends that have echoed throughout the entire gaming world, innovations in gameplay concepts that have been copied by game developers now hundreds if not thousands of times over because of their genius. If you doubt my words you have not been here long enough to see. I was friends with the guy who created paintball mod, |K0RN|. I took advice from Plasmatic on how to code for a number of years and learned in the beginning from his modding tutorial on Annihilation.info back when I was like 12 (as did a couple of you who are still lurking around here... Perrinoia), I was friends with the guy who created Aeon. I was there when the 128 man aeon server was FULL back when it first came out (do any of you remember?) I was there when ModX didn't even have a mover gun or deploy tool, or even save for that matter. I was around when 500+ pings were common, and dial-up was the tool of the trade. I was around for the epic team battles in NWVII, and I was there for the adventures in BVII as well. I remember back in the day when you could vote yourself admin and then kick everybody from a server, and I would kick everyone and then put the server in tournament mode lol. I remember back when people worked together and built clans like |TE| and +]-[+ and {OZ} and <!>... bonds that still remain what, 10+ years later? I remember when you could open up the console and see thousands of players at any given time... and I remember when they shut down support for the master servers as well. I remember how everyone thought that the game was going to die back in like 2008. AND...
I haven't heard from |K0RN| in years, I haven't heard from the guy who made Aeon since I was a teenager, he taught me much of what I know about coding. Both of the guys who made ModX are no longer active in the community. Some of my longest friends in life have been people from tribes. I have known N!M for like 10 years, I have known Crow for 4 or 5. Some of you here I have known, or have known each other, for a number of years. These friendships might last, and so might the memories, but we all see where this is heading. Many, many have left. I think all of you can agree that we have not ensured the survival of our beloved game.
The two questions I propose to you all are: why not? and are we going to?
I'm going to lay it all out on the line...

Cries are okay

I thought you said this a year ago, and a year before that, and someone else said it a year before that... Think this has been a common saying since I joined anni community (2005 - almost 10 years ago). Wonder if it ever happens.

Just saying TRIBES isn't as fragile as you make it out to be. We could use more player base, but would need funding to do it. What ideas would we have to do this?
It's not like we have not gone over this topic many times with many different ideas.

Tribes is healthy , maybe the tribe community is not quite as passionate but all in all this game particularly Anni perseveres.
not to many people here go back to the demo days before the release of T1 . I was 15 years old , one of 2 girls that played.
I have had many acquaintances and one very serious relationship in tribes, its been apart of my life for over 16 yrs
Tribes never gets old theres always something to learn or practice, I never mapped , but made some skins for [UwK]
and had a sound pack bar none ,(still have it, but unsure if I want to use it ) it was made by [UwK] 5p1d3r and myself based on 5150 with a large music score and
alot of Disney characters added. fun times. I think if Starsiege Tribes really wanted to get back the player base it had back in the day, It would have to be re released
with unchanged game play and today's graphics (as that seems to be all it is lacking ) I Love this game, finding time to play it is another matter
