I went and got him a huge tank ($60 on sale!) and outfitted it with the proper lighting and some rocks and driftwood that I found at the flowage...
He seems to really like it.

Update: Spike is now full-grown, at a healthy 20".
His favorite food is blackberries.

Awesome Stu! I have quite a large Terrarium that I used for turtles. I will have to send you a picture of it at some point
