Introducing Tribes Star Wars

https://www.moddb.com/mods/tribes-star-wars

Tribes Star Wars is a total conversion mod for tribes that turns the game into a battlefront like star wars game.

Two teams, the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance battle to capture the flag, first to five points wins.
Each team has nine different Star Wars characters each that you can play as.
The mod also takes place across eight familiar Star Wars locations.

What is Tribes Star Wars Total Conversion mod version 2.5?

SWTC was a Star Wars mod for Tribes from the early 2000's that ended with v2.0

2.5 has added support for newer versions of Tribes, version 1.4+ to be able to join a server hosting the mod.

Team Galactic Empire:
--------------------
Battle Droid
Darth Maul
Tuskan Raider
Storm Trooper
Dark Trooper
Thrawn
Boba Fett
Darth Vader
Xena

Team Rebel Alliance:
--------------------
Han Solo
Rebel Pilot
Luke Skywalker
Rebel Troop
Rebel Command
Hoth Trooper
Chewbacca
Dash Rendar
Princess Leia

Maps:
--------------------
Battle of Hoth
Dantooine
Mos Eisley
Mos Espa
Sarlaac Pit
Sith Knight
Tatooine
Yavin Base

Can you play this mod offline?
--------------------------
Yes you can play this mod completely offline.
Host the mod on the version 1.11 or 1.30 config and then join your server on the 1.4 config by opening console and typing or copy-pasting the command: connect(localhost:28001);

28001 is the server port, usually defined in TribesStarWars\1.11 TribesStarWars\config\ServerPrefs.cs.
Look for the line $Server::Port = "28001"; if you need to change the port just use that number in the connect command.

You can play against the bots offline to practice or mess around, or disable them to explore the maps in peace.

You can also always just host the mod on the 1.11 config and explore the maps closer to how they looked in the early 2000s aka retro mode.

So what's new in version 2.5?
====================================================================================================================
Compatibility with Tribes version 1.4+ configs.
You can now play on a older retro version 1.11 or 1.30 config or join on a 1.4 config for better visuals.
The maps have been reworked or finished and are completely inspired by the original maps but they now work with the newer versions of Tribes.

Easter Eggs.

Version 2.5 Credits (2024):
--------------------------------------
-Thanks to Krogoth of The Exiled File Library for converting the version 2.0 SWTC files into 1.4 file types and kick-starting Star Wars mod v2.5.

-v2.5 mapping done by BaseEncrypt.
The maps were completely redone to have compatibility with both 1.11 and 1.4 so each star wars piece had to be replaced or recreated while trying to take inspiration from v2.0

-1.11 config is built on top of Plasmatics 'trobs' install, which is a pretty good rip of tribes version 1.8 from disc updated to version 1.11
It also contains version 1.30 which lets us set higher game resolutions for widescreen on the retro config so that's nice!

-1.4 config is built on top of v0dkA's 'Halo' config. The original can be found below.
https://tr1bes.us/config/11

-Huge thanks to the tribes community on discord

-Terrain and sky textures sourced from various community made 1.4 configs

-Dantooine uses the terrain from the map DusktoDawn which is a custom tribes map from Andrew from way back so shout out to him.

-Map summaries and descriptions either used the old v2.0 originals or were created with help from https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/

-www.moddb.com for hosting the mod

-https://www.youtube.com/@tribesmovies555 for uploading the videos
