I tried it out the other day when it made its way onto reddit. If they fix the lag it could be pretty fun. Till then, I think I'll pass.

yeah that was a problem for ascend when it was first beta. Those sort of problems are common in some open-beta games. They're probably just testing netcode.

Yeah the lag can be bad sometimes. Make sure you're playing in a server for your region though. I like to run around as an engineer repairing stuff and capturing the tech buildings then attempting to hold them. The vehicle game play can be really fun if you're advancing with a lot of others and engineers repairing.

I gave it another shot. Looks like they're limiting servers to 40 players to reduce vehicle lag, which definitely helped but I still didn't have a particularly fun time. The only time I stay alive for a decent amount of time is as an engineer, which gets boring after a while. Trying to go out into the field as a soldier is just suicide, thanks to both vehicles and of course snipers. Reminds me too much of PS2 and why I didn't really like it (long trips, short life, not feeling useful).

The gunplay is also not very fun.
