Yes Crow also, they do something very unique even beyond this. I don't know if you saw it, but they create a small flash when they strike. This happens because they create a ton of nano sized bubbles which create some kind of energy which temporarliy gets as hot as the sun around the surface they strike.
If this is not star trek technology, I don't know what is. This is why I love creation so much, it reveals the brilliance and majesty of the God I love(no trolling is meant by this comment, just expressing my feelings).
Here is another neat video of them.

Here is the other video of the mantis shrimp in slow motion. You can see a brief flash if you look closely.
The video caption says:
"The "high speed" refers to the number of frames per second of footage (i.e. 5000, which is impressive in itself). If you look at videos in real time of mantis shrimp strikes, there is virtually nothing to see since it is so quick. If you're still not impressed, skip forward to the moment of impact in this video. See the little white bubble that appears? For a split second, the temperature there is as hot as the surface of the sun. THAT is impressive."

OK, as promiced here are some more. Sorry if some seem to bright, this is a new cam and the tank lights are super bright and there is 1334 watts of it. When i figure out how to shoot a vid with it i'll throw that up too if i can Enjoy
PS: If you look closely you'll see some Yellow sponge. This grew naturally as it was one of the things that was on the liverock. Behind the display tank is a fishtank room dedicated to the hobby which has another 150 gal tank with more live rock that represents the lower portion of the reef. Lots of Sponge species grow there which help filter the water. It also acts as a zooplankton refugium and is gravity fed to the main display, helping to feed the fish and corals. Total system net water volume is 410 gals US.
