[feedback] new vehicles.

Post by S_hift »

love em. maybe tone it down just a tad bit. make the interceptor fire minigun bullets instead of rocket like the bomber.
and make bomber the same max damage as force fields and give interceptors the same max damage as plasma floors. it should balance out fine.

on a side note the steering is a bit fucked lol, in terms of lift and descend its really radical. pretty fun though.

i give new update a 8 of 10

I disagree.
Radical is right. Minor changes would have been alright, but I'm now forced to re-learn how to drive these atrocities, which don't handle like real vehicles AT ALL.
All the vehicles have now been turned into scouts.... same flight characteristics and weapons.
What's the point in having different vehicles at all?

How would everyone feel if the sniper rifle was slowed down to plasma rifle speed?
Wouldn't that ruin the game for most people?
That's where I am right now.

As someone who spends the majority of his server time flying vehicles, I would have thought that my input would have at least been asked for. I do have some experience in programming vehicle paramaters (Drunken Annihalation) and I could have done a much better job:

I'm not going to re-learn how to pilot just because someone decided to make stupid changes.
If the planes stay as they are, I will no longer be playing Tribes. :nup:

Out of the two Stu, which one would u want reverted? The new ones have amazing handling which is something I was thinking you would enjoy.

I'd like the bombers to stay as they were....maybe increase the speed to 100.
Pitch and yaw could be increased slightly to improve maneuverability (Pitch and yaw were increased to 90 on Drunken Annihalation, giving the APC the ability to fly upside down)

....but I REALLY need to have bombs.
My bombing accuracy is currently the area of expertise that sets me above other players.

The deployable transports should have the same paramaters as the bombers, but you could add a forward shooting chaingun type weapon instead of the missles, which are way too difficult to aim at targets. They don't seem to go where the crosshairs are:

The "amazing handling" you speak of is unrealistic. Any vehicle of that size would take longer to accelerate and decelerate in RL. Also, if you're going to increase the forward speed, you should do the same with the ascent and descent speed too, so the overall handling is more even.
This has always been an issue with the scouts and makes them difficult to maneuver accurately when you're not flying forward.

In short, the planes could use tweaks, but these changes are way too radical.
