Mine was 2 years, cant say it was for the better but Its still fun being back.

tell ya what gets me: people that right from the start of a map defend an inventory, putting walls and turrets all around there own little world while there flag is being capped.
anyone can repair an inv...once there flags been capped you can`t take it back! so I always defend the flag first, then worry about everything eles.

I say we remove personal stats and only worry about the flag. No kills or deaths tracked. Increase points for flag grabs, flag returns and of course flag caps.

I think that's over the top there virus it is a FPS game and my cool down was last summer for about 5 months.
No matter how long I stay away from this game I will never forget the stuff this game and community forged onto my heart!

Sometimes you just have one of those days... Not in a good mood and you play the game and it doesn't go well and then you're in a terrible mood. I've been on teams I thought seemed pretty good and got our asses handed to us. There are just different strategies involved with different players and sometimes it doesn't gel well.

Flag rushes and generator rushes, a defensive turtle to withstand those first initial onslaughts, you can play it many ways. Campers get a bad rap but they do play a role that can be beneficial to a team. I'll camp at times and I think a couple of heavies that are pretty good with the PB can really put a dent in an offensive charge or box up opponents in their base. If an opponent can take out your genny and keep it down you're eventually at a BIG disadvantage the rest of a map even if you get the first cap. I would sometimes trade that first cap for good set defense and being able to produce Heavy charges to keep them in spawn gear, you can catch up then and own the rest of the map possibly.

Different people like the game for different reasons, take STU for example, many hated his constant bombing but that was/is his niche and he's become very good at it. If he's making bombing runs on our D I certainly put him high on my list of targets. Sure sometimes you have a bad day playing but the team mates change up and it's a whole new game again. Hang in there....

I just get used to whoever I have to be teamed up with...
It sucks but sadly that's how the cookie crumbles. Just do your best with the shit you've been dealt! I hate even more when I have a devastating team and then the whole other team just drops. I've sat through fucking 1 on 3's painfully before.

Stop neglecting your pets by going out and partying and keep them company by staying home and playing Tribes.
just like we did in the fuckin 90's.

And S_hift, stop with the "Oh I quit Tribes" posts.
one does not simply quit tribe, but when they do, new name be made and login tomorrow

Uhh, most maps are "capture the flag" not "rack up your kills". Maybe we should start making Team Deathmatch maps instead or just play Call of Duty so we can run around with our heads chopped off.

thats actually interesting you say that virus. While my main goal in any ctf match is to win, I usually do get most kills/highest score. I used to think killing doesn't really mean much, and that its extra credit. Then I thought about some of the games I've played.

When you kill someone, you are limiting what they are trying to do to your team. You are limiting their potential to do anything, basically sending them back to the drawing board. Now they are forced to find you and improvise in what way they should eliminate you. Problem is you've already advanced and are well within their base. At this point you've taken out over 5 of their teammates who had run into you on your way in, so now they're back at the drawing board as well trying to do whatever they can to make sure you do not stay inside the base. All the while your teams offense is just flowing like beer from a keg. You have one guy setting defense and the base is in tip top shape. You're still in their base, you've stripped out all the generators and turrets. You've racked up some 15 kills and destroyed their generator over 5 times in the course of 8 minutes. Your armor is wearing thin, but somehow the enemy always leaves you repair kits. You get inside their main interior, and all hell breaks loose. You're lobbing your favorite explosives into the very heart of the enemy base. The enemy is scrambling to fortify the interior with everything they got. At this point they're only hurting themselves, and you're there to assist them. You notice the death toll is dropping after the spam festival, people aren't even going to the room anymore and thats when you step in to finish the job. Now they're suiciding to spawn outdoors cause their base has been taken only to be greeted by mines behind every corner. Your teammate grabs the flag and on the way out you hear an old familiar tune. The sound of plasma firing from different directions. So you do what any good teammate would do, and you cover your flag carrier until the death.
