When I first started playing the Annihilation mod, I had Windows 98 with a 56k modem. Troll quickly became my favorite armor, because it was so fast, and packed a hell of a punch, plus, it regenerated.

I fondly remember launching myself around the map with my grenades, and wrecking everyone with phase disrupters. I also carried the pulse cannon, which was like an energy based plasma gun (actually used the same projectile as the plasma turret, I believe). I would wreck the enemy defenses with that thing, while dancing around and dodging all of the enemy snipers with T1 internet connections.

That's how I played when I got recruited into my first clan. In fact, I had a buddy back then... EckoManInRed (not to be confused with EcKo). He would play in builder armor, collect beacons from my kills, and deploy inventory stations and cover me while I resupplied. The both of us got recruited by ~GP~, and we've stuck together ever since (until he served in Iraq and lost his taste for violent video games).

Once I got high speed internet, I was finally able to snipe, and started to prefer Titan, instead. I practiced with all of the armors, learning all of their tricks, and was extremely good with Angel for awhile, although I still prefered Titan.

I got bored of massacring my foe, and started using the shockwave cannon to push my enemies around, preventing them from going where they wanted without killing them. Then Plasmatic created the pitchfork, and my deviously lopsided smile stretched from ear to ear.

After all that drama with admin stuff went down, I stopped playing tribes for a year or so... And now I'm out of practice, so I'm back to owning in Titan, again.

I remember him. It's funny, when people mentioned that Ecko was an asshole, I was not buying it until I realized the second. EckoManInRed, made my first forum sig. He was overly obsessed with Jessica Alba. Very cool dude.
