No it will not. You may want to download a new version and see if it will work. If it does work, then you have something wrong with your current versions you may have saved, and may want to try to compare the files between versions to get one of your current saved versions to work.

Yes, this will scan your computer for current games you have on it. If it's on it's listing, then you can connect through this to play it either by a hosted server, or by someone hosting the game, or you can join a chat forum for the name of a game on their listing and chat with other people or friends online to discuss particular things, or to just kid around. You can use this to also host a game among friends or other people in the chat forum.

I think steam is good enough. Can you change my opinion on this somehow? Is there anything special about Kali?

It was just another option. I like STEAM also, but I also use this to chat with friends online before entering a game.

It sounds neat, but I still can't get it to install.

When I run the installer, I see a dialog box that declares, "Preparing installer" or something like that, for less than a second, and then nothing else happens.

Each time I run it, I get a new instance of the exe in task manager, and it doesn't go away unless I end task.

Ah no, all you need is your computer. You can download an emulator and play all gamming formats on your current computer, and it's free, and any programmable handheld joystick will work fine.
