Ditto, with the exception of neon mines...

I really hate mines, and even with bright orange skin, I still get killed by them almost as often as laser turrets.

Plus, it makes pitchfork look like something purchased from home depot.

Base player vs. mod player, attitudes and approach to the game are different. Back in the day I was always a base player, not LT but with INV., I played a LOT of HO because that was just what I liked to do. My connection was dial up at first and you know how that went... and for the most part I never really got decent cable speeds until the servers had thinned quite a bit. Back then, for me it was all about ping and to snipe you needed a good connect speed. There was a divide there due to just that and there are other divides too. I rarely ever even tried the mods due to a lot of the reasons you all mention. After coming back a few years ago the most populated server was this Anni and the populated base server was a sort of a good ole boys club where you didn't get to play unless they had some people missing or lack of players on occasion. I certainly didn't claim to be on their level at LT but if you go in to play and 75% of the time you can't because you're not part of the click well... how long you gonna bang your head against a wall?

This mod is NOT LT or base and it's a LONG way from it really. I'm ok with that though and I love it more than I ever did base. So some of us hold a differing opinion when it comes to the play of the mod. It's true the flag can be almost unattainable on some maps where D can be set so superbly that it's nearly impossible to clear it all but some, like myself, don't think it's all about speedy routes and quick grabs and caps. Team Warfare ! Some of these unattainable flags just call for massive HO attacks to whittle it down... it takes a team to do it. Some require trickier tactics to take down D and yes sometimes the D can just be overwhelming on certain maps. There are also maps and I know Perr loves to rush gens and play a whole map in spawn, where spawn rushes prevent ever getting D set up too.

It took me a while to get used to this mod but I really do love it and appreciate it. I've seen them work hard to keep it fair and deal with problems that pop up and efforts are always ongoing to deal with cheats and cheaters. I've seen quite a few changes to the mod, some come and go and some stay but many a player/admin/coder and owner have worked pretty hard to keep it fun. I for one think they've done an admirable job considering the age of the game and player base.

I'm thankful for their effort, for the game we have today, it's come a long way with a LOT of work put into it. I'm thankful for the players we have left, you're a big part of my life actually. I'm thankful you guys are still here talking about it and making good points and trying to keep it going. I too am an old dude at 53 and I hope to be giving you all hell till I can't anymore. Thanks to you all for spending the time with me and kicking shazbot !

Perr... that neon mine.... you're too good to be using that man, you don't need it, besides I'm laying those mines your seeing a mile away and I don't see them a mile away, my word on it.

Alright SGT. Good points, and I will agree. A lot of effort was put into the mod. Yes, I appreciate the work that has been done, and the people who still play to keep the game ALIVE and ONGOING. Even though I don't play the mod, I still jump in OBS and watch ;)

Yeah, I definitely appreciate it too, even though I think/act like I could do better.

I'd love to team up with you guys and play alongside yas for a map or two. (Perr is seems you're almost always on the other team) Have a little fun ... come join us KilRoy for a few maps, yeah it's different but you'll find an angle or two you like I'd bet. We have some spawn maps that I've really been enjoying too over the winter we've had a few great spawn games where the action is just awesome.

I'm always on the other team, because when we are on the same team, the other team quits, so I switch to make the teams fair again...

We're too good to be on the same team... lol
