That scene is terrible, because when the midget troll guy yells at the elf guy, they are within shouting distance... But after the elf guy rides a giant stampeding elephant for over a minute, they're still within shouting distance.

Also, what's up with the green smoke on the ground?

Also, there was an archer duel on top of the elephant. When the bad archer cocks his bow, he has no arrows, and I don't think I saw any arrows in the elf's bow either... So they totally pretended to shoot at each other, and the bad archer totally pretended to die...

Then a couple of people try to jump in and fight the elf hand to hand combat and he just stands there while they fall off the elephant.

After he kills all of the bad dudes and the bad elephant, and then elephant slides down the elephant's trunk like he's surfing, the troll shouts at him that it only counts as one kill. This statement doesn't make sense since he engaged at least 4 of the bad guys individually before chopping the whole saddle fort off the elephant (presumably) killing the rest, before killing the elephant itself. Thus I feel he gets credit for at least 6 kills.

However, if he had just shot a single arrow into the elephant's mouth, severing it's spinal cord, dropping the whole kit and kaboodle, and the elephant rolled over it's riders killing them.. Then an argument for counting it as a single kill might have more traction.

Lastly, the troll brought a hammer to an arrow/elephant fight. What a retard.

Wrong. Two different guys. Aragorn shouted the first warning.

It's not smoke. It's a ghost army of the dead, recruited by Aragorn.

Look closer (when he's counting). Legolas pulls arrows from his quiver and shoots them in one quick motion. Yeah, he's that good.
Do you think they're shooting real arrows and really killing each other for a movie?
Actually, everyone who "dies" in the movie is just pretending to die. That's called "acting". :spiteful:

Elves have much better balance than your average bad guy. They also don't sink into the snow and can even walk on water.

Gimli was only referring to the elephant. He assumed Legolas would want extra credit for something so large and difficult to kill.

It's an axe. How retarded are you for thinking an axe is a hammer? :taunt:

These are all questions that you would already have the answers for if you just watched the movies.

None of those statements were questions.

I'm aware that they are acting, but what I was pointing out, was the fact that there were no arrows, after effects or not... they both drew empty bows in that scene, and then the bad guy fell forward.

I'm also aware that there was a ghost army, but it just looks like green smoke in that scene... Another failure of the special effects department.

I wasn't aware that the first fat fuck was different than the last fat fuck, because I don't give a shit about the characters of this shitty movie franchise.

Y'all can defend it as much as you want, but you can't convince me to like it by showing me clips that I've already seen and hated.

Quite frankly, I don't give a shit if you watch it or not. I just don't think you should be discouraging others from seeing a movie series you haven't watched just because you decided you don't like it.

That's not much different form all the assholes that criticize pot but have never tried it and are actually clueless about it.

I didn't say I didn't watch it. I said I didn't want to.

I saw the first one in theaters with my friends and brothers, and hated it. I didn't want to see the rest, but over the years, it has come on TV so many times, and seeing as how I'm usually living in one of my sibling's houses/apartments, I usually don't get to pick the channel, so I've seen most of the franchise.

It's incredibly boring, and none of it makes any sense to me.

Why do they have to bring the ring to mordor? Why can't they just destroy it in the very beginning? Don't they have smelters and magicians and shit, in hobbit-ville?

Why not just let the creepy skinny guy hold on to his precious?

Why does the evil bad guy want the ring so much? Isn't he powerful enough without it?

Those are questions, you are welcome to answer. I don't really care what the answers are, though... I just wanted to state that these are the questions that come to mind when watching this incredibly boring movie series.

The ring is indestructible.
It could only be destroyed in the fires of Mt. Doom where it was forged. Gimli struck it with his axe at Rivendell and couldn't even scratch it.
perrinoia wrote:Why not just let the creepy skinny guy hold on to his precious?
Gollum lost it. Clearly he couldn't be trusted to keep it away from Sauron.
This was even more evident when Gollum was captured and tortured into revealing that Bilbo Baggins had the ring.
perrinoia wrote:Why does the evil bad guy want the ring so much? Isn't he powerful enough without it?
Possessing the ring was the only way he could take physical form again and regain all his former power. Once Sauron had the One Ring, he would be able to control the bearers of the other 19 Rings of Power.

I answered them anyway, ...not for your benefit, but for anyone else who might be interested in watching LOTR.
