My poor Bearded Dragon turned out to be a girl... She started laying eggs this spring. Unfortunately, because of her being severely underfed by her former owner, she never got very big and was having trouble passing the eggs.
Now she is egg-bound and has stopped eating for over two weeks now.
I'm afraid she's living her final days, as there is nothing I can do for her and she's become so skinny and weak that she can barely walk.

I went and got another Bearded Dragon (a male for sure this time... I don't want to go through this again!) to soften the inevitable sorrow for me, and to keep her company during her last days.
She seems to enjoy having him around and he's been very comforting for her by constantly snuggling up to her.
The problem is that this little guy needs a name, and I don't have any good ideas.
Anyone have some serious suggestions?

Dang STU, sorry to see the before and after pics. My sympathies, I know how it feels to lose a beloved pet. I don't have any suggestions for names, but this site might help you out if no one has a good one:

Re: Name the Dragon
Puff was my first Bearded Dragon.
I am now finding out just how much personality they have, as Spike is so much different from her.
He is much more curious and adventuresome, whereas Puff was more laid back and would lie motionless in one place for hours.
She was also petrified of being outside...something she was just starting to get over. Because of this I never had to worry about Puff being outside, she wouldn't go anywhere.
Not so sure about this new guy though... he'd probably run off on me.
I saw him pacing back and forth in his cage like he was trying to get out, but when I let him out, soon he was pacing back and forth in front of it trying to get back in.
He wasn't trying to escape, ...he just wanted to explore.
Yesterday I saw him hanging from his UV lamp with one hand like a little monkey. I don't know what that was about, but it looked ridiculous.
He seems much more alert and interested in what's going on around him and he already can recognize a container of meal worms (his favorite treat) from across the room. He actually gets excited when he sees me open it.
He also is much less picky about what he eats... he seems to love fruits like blueberries and strawberries, something Puff would never eat.
He also chows down his dry food, which Puff wouldn't eat unless I wet it down first.
In short, I think Spike is going to be a lot easier to take care of ... as long as he doesn't get lost or run off on me.
