That's the point. Almost the whole world knows about everything the United States puts out. They watch our movies and talk about our politics. They make forum posts boasting about their sports compared to ours when the majority of us could care less about theirs.
How many people can name even one popular singer in Brazil? The United States does a great job of at least convincing everyone that they are the most relevant super power and that's why our football is the real football and you can have your silly soccer game.
What is "football" and what isn't
Re: What is "football" and what isn't
Personally, I don't give a fuck about American football anymore than I care about soccer, but I completely agree about how much better America is than the rest of the world...

Re: What is "football" and what isn't
You may have a few good singers, even tough the British are better at that, but brazillians mostly hear only their own shitty music. You may have a great military, movies and a different mentality than most south americans (who always think someone owes them something). But you still don't have the real football!!!!!!! The British made it, there's no point in calling your western egg orgy game "football".
Btw, Europe>>>>>>>USA (except for the weak scandinavian countries). I'm still hopeful about my homeland Portugal.

Portugal?! LOL
Did Portugal even survive the economic crash nearly a decade ago?
The last news I heard about Portugal was riots due to the economy, lack of jobs, corruption, etc...
I met a few people from Portugal, last year, and they had all become citizens of Switzerland, to avoid Portugal's ridiculous income taxes. (They work on private yachts, not based in Portugal).
I just figured the country dissolved into anarchy since I haven't heard anything about them in so long.
However, since you bring up entitlement... I'll have to conceive that entitlement is how Obama got elected... The majority of American voters decided they were entitled to welfare and health insurance, and that's what he was promising us.
We're about to vote on our next president, and we'll most likely choose another liberal, for the same reason...
The 3 most popular choices are Bernie Sanders (who wants to give free college tuition to the poor), Hillary Clinton (who didn't divorce her cheating husband/ex-president), and Donald Trump (an extremely rich businessman who can't open his mouth without insulting an entire hemisphere). There are a lot more options who might be better, but I can hardly remember any of their names, so they've probably got no chance.
TLDR; USA is rapidly turning into a welfare state, too. Probably not as fast as South America and Europe, though.
