No, depends on what companies are paying for their advertisements on either the software or programming you are using, that in itself pays for the FREE software or programming. As for software that relays your private information, your co-worker was correct. Just you surfing the internet with whatever provider you are going through also does this. Every person's profile while online, or even on the phone (landline or cell) is subject to releasing information. Everything goes through a series of switches and servers, these servers track and sorts profiles and stores their usage as they use them. This information is listed to a user that is using the product by a code of numbers, which can be sorted out, and if need be the information relayed to a particular individual(s) who request this. So yes, you are DAMNED using technology if you want to try to hide.
