i like this idea, but needs a toggle for on and off.

My idea keeps the game somewhat evenly balanced while allowing the players to choose their teams. So a player who spent 15 minutes setting defenses probably won't want to change teams, and might not even realize when teams are unbalanced because defense builders don't die as frequently as offense goers.Erowid wrote:somrthing to consider is the defense that has been set by the switched player
Meanwhile, another player who has done nothing but rape the enemy base repeatedly might realize he's lacking targets, get bored, and decide to switch teams for a challenge.
Likewise, when a player dies, if they can't spawn because their team has more live players than the other, they might get impatient and switch teams
I'm all for rewarding players for evening the teams, but you're just inviting point farming... I could deploy a turret, switch teams, destroy it, build another, switch teams, etc...SpydeR. wrote:Make it so they get double points for destroying it
I'd rather just give them an extra point for switching and reducing the team difference, regardless of what they accomplish after switching.

Why not just use the player "rating" listed when you press shift to automatically balance teams? Just have the server look at that and even things out accordingly.

Legendz stats scripts based on the ones from Andrew I think

After playing Midair and seeing how annoying an aggressive auto balance can be I don't think it's something I would be interested in working on.

Yeah, that's why I suggested not automatically switching, but rather preventing spawning if it would make teams unfair (with a threshold of perhaps 1 or 2.
