My dad and I were talking about this earlier this evening. I will be designing a case for one and then using either Arduino or Raspberry Pi for the emulator and control board. I plan on making a very nice table and will post pictures when I have completed the sketch and post as I tool the parts for it.

I can look into doing that. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

Just an update. I have started the drawing for the Arcade/Tribes player table. I should have it done tomorrow, or at least a rough idea of what we will be tooling to make this.

What I will be using
1. Raspberry Pi (Control board, Emulator, and LED light control)
2. SolidWorks 2014 (Table design, Tooling Patterns and coding)
3. Laser and CNC tables (Tooling and Creation of custom table)

I will post pictures as we complete this table. Should be a cool project to watch, especially if any of you wanted to learn more about the Raspberry Pi and Arduino Uno!

The Pi 2 would probably work ok for your project, but I recommend going with the Pi 3, it has a bit more you can do with it, and it's only $35, but don't wait too long. My understanding is they may raise the price in the near future, so get'em while you can ;)

Keep in mind, it will likely be limited to playing Tribes in software mode, like my Microsoft Surface Pro 2.

It can launch Tribes 1.40, but it's not really playable.

I will take all that into consideration Perrin. I think I am going to get a external video card adapter like you would use for some laptops.

Also Kill, we are going to use the Quad Core model. My dad has the original model and we decided that it was going to be too slow for what we need.

My gaming rig has a mini-ITX motherboard with an Intel Core i7 CPU, nVidia Geforce 760 (full size) GPU.

I had to remove the hard drive rack in order to fit the video card.

It looks funny because the GPU is twice as big as the motherboard.

Yeah, the Quad Core is the Pi 3 version for $35, and yes, you will need an external Video source to run the graphics on. The on board video will not cut it. As for the HD, install everything on a Micro SD card and use that as the HD source ;)
