Tribes for sure.
Beyond that, Mario 1, 2, 3, Super.
Donkey Kong Country, 1, 2..... 3?
I don't know how far we can go with "retro"... I have fond memories of N64 games, but don't know if I consider that retro quite yet.

Damn, not even plastic bricks? That's fucked.
Re: what's your favorite retro game??
Your lucky, I started with Play Dough...blah.
Re: what's your favorite retro game??
I was only allowed to play with play dough outside, so I wouldn't make a mess inside.
We did have Legos... That definitely counts as plastic bricks.
One of my fondest childhood memories was playing with legos in the basement with my brothers.
We had spread all of our legos out across the whole floor in search for one specific piece. My mother came down the stairs and started yelling at us for making a mess, and told us to clear a path so she could walk through to the next room. So we cleared her a path. Not a very wide path in hindsight, but wide enough for a child to walk through as if on a balance beam.
My mother comes back down the stairs with shoes on and proceeds to straddle the path as if it were lava while nagging, "EVERYWHERE I STEP THERE IS LEGOS!" My brothers and I couldn't stop laughing and continue to joke about it to this day.
Last Christmas, everyone bought my brother and his kids legos, and then my twin and I proceeded to hunt down piles of legos to step on an recite my mother's nagging tone.
Also, my nephew (who is allergic to everything and constantly "sick") got a toy truck that cleans up Legos like a Roomba. Now he's constantly pushing the truck around the living room singing, "I have toys in my belly", and my sister in-law dies a little each time.
